Weekend Vibes | A Layered Look

It's been a rough few weeks at work and I'm finally off for the next three days... yes, THREE whole glorious days! This means checking things off of my to-do list and spending the whole time snuggled with the family. My parents are set to visit this weekend so Jon and I are looking forward to going to the gym together... that's right, at the same time! Normally we are passing ships because one of us has to watch Mía. I really wish the gym that we go to as more family friendly, but It is a university gym so I can understand why they aren't. Meh, we will survive!

Today for my Fashion Friday post (should I even call it that?) I wanted to share this easy throw-on look that can take you from running errands with the baby to dinner with the Hubs. Do you remember this sweater from my Valentine's Day outfit post? Here I layered a white button up shirt underneath to add warmth and dimension to the outfit. Dressing in layers is the most convenient way to chase after a toddler. Should you get too warm, removing a light sweater makes for one less bulky item that you have to tote around... trust me! I have so many cropped sweaters because they are so versatile and easily paired with anything from boyfriend jeans or sweat pants to a midi skirt or culottes. Case in point, this sweater went from a dressy dinner look the other week to a causal weekend warrior look with ease. I love pieces that you can wear multiple ways to create different looks. One of my shopping rules is to imagine that item in 3 or more outfits with items you already own and if you can't then its probably not worth a buy. I have linked two J Crew wool hats that are on sale right now for less than $50 that you have to check out. I love pulling mine out every season!
